It's February 15th, 2009, and this is The Candid Frame.

Before we jump into the interview with today's guest, I want to make a special announcement,

and that is that I'll be hosting and producing a new video podcast.

So now you won't just hear me every two weeks. Now you'll be able to see me, which could be a good or a bad thing.

But in any case, this new podcast, which is called Shooting with Alas,

is going to be a much different animal than the Candid Frame,

where this show shies away from discussions of things technical.

Shooting with Alice would openly feature all things technical from choices of equipment,

handling lighting and exposure, and focusing on what's involved in actually making a photograph.

In each episode, you'll follow me as I'm out and about making photographs and discussing

some of the interesting challenges I face about making photographs and discussing some of the

interesting challenges I face, making them and the solutions I use to resolve them. It's definitely

a work in progress and I welcome your feedback as me and my team at Alas Media refine this new project.
