Before I introduced you to today's guests, I wanted to thank you for being such

devoted listeners and supporters of the Candid Frame. For almost three years, I wanted to thank you for being such devoted listeners and supporters of the

For almost three years, I've been putting together this show, and despite various challenges

I've faced trying to get a show up and live, it's always been you, the listeners that

helped inspire me to make the time to make another episode.

There's not a whole lot of glory or even money involved in putting out this podcast,

but what makes the effort worth it is the knowledge that I'm helping photographers like you

to further your passion for photography, and in some cases encouraging you to follow your dreams.

There are few things more gratifying than knowing you've helped even in a small way

to encourage someone to make their life's passion their life's work.

So thank you, and I hope you have a great 2009.

Today's guest is Jim Motke, and Jim is the founder of BetterFoto.com and is the author of the recent book,

The Better Photo Guide to Photographing Children. Now, I've enjoyed working alongside with Jim

for the last several years at Better Photo, but what I admire most about him is not only his

passion for photography, but his unrelenting pursuit to make his dream a reality and to help others do the same.

The joy of photography is obviously found in creating and sharing images,

but I think Jim exemplifies the idea that there's also joy to be found in helping others

to discover the passion of creativity in themselves.
