It's October 22nd, 2007, and he was one of the many photographers who I shared the floor with recently in Chicago for the Better Photo Summit.

And I conducted two interviews while there. This is

the first of two that you're going to hear in the coming weeks. And I wanted to interview Sean because

not only did I hear him speak and hear him speak and see his images, but I also had the chance

to just sort of sit down and talk with him.

And, you know, I felt very sympathetic with him in terms of the way that he approaches

photography and the way he sees how we not only use the camera to make pictures, but what we

try to express in our photographs.

And I think he has also a very unique sense in his

approach to photography in terms of of it as a business and I think the insight that he brings

into the conversation was an important one not only for me to hear but I thought for you for

He's an accomplished nature and travel photographer as well as having produced a lot of work

even though you may not have known the name and the person associated with it. But I think you

really are going to enjoy the conversation. I know I didn't. It was real late in the evening,

and we recorded it in his hotel room after a long day at the summit. And we're both a bit

tired, but we both found ourselves being very energized by the conversation,

and we probably could have taken it on, gone and continued speaking for a lot longer,

but we both had to get up early in the morning.
