It's July 16th, 2007, and this is the Candid Frame.

After a break of several weeks, during which I took some long overdue time off,

I'm back with a new episode with today's guest, Christine Hobber,

a photographer who has actually lived

a dream shared by many photographers, and that dream is to travel the country in an RV

and doing little else but making photographs.

It's this part of Christine's story that brought her to my attention and the result of her

working in the USA project is an impressive one on several counts.

The first of which is the great photography she made,

portraits of everyday working Americans,

many of whom practice crafts and trades that are quickly disappearing.

The other is that this journey didn't begin at the end of a career,

but in the middle of one, a successful photographic portrait business

in Colorado.

The fact that she was able to leave a successful business to live out a dream is an inspiration

to any photographer who has been thinking of pursuing a personal project with hopes of one

day making it happen.
