Today's guest is Jim Harrington.

And Jim's work is work that I've been familiar with over the years.

I've seen his portraits published in

various magazines and I've always had a long admiration for the quality of the work, though I never

associated a particular name with the work. And it just so happens that Jim is a fan of the show

and sent me an email commenting and complimenting me on the show,

and I finally had the opportunity to tie the images I admired with a photographer who created them.

And in talking with him, I realized that he was definitely a guest that I wanted to add

to the long list of photographers that I've interviewed over the last year.

And what I like about Jim's work is not just that they're great portraits or even exceptionally

black and white renderings of some of the best musicians in the country.

But I really love his sense of story and his sense of place.

Two terms that are often not used in describing portraiture,

but you will definitely get a sense of that and looking to his images.

And I also think Jim's story is a particularly interesting one.
