We are going to dive into cancel culture today. What is at its root? How do we quantify it, not just describe it, but actually

gets some data on how big it is or if it's accelerating or where it is focused? And how it looks compared to the McCarthy era with a

special focus on college campuses which appear to be the percolator for so

much of this nonsense. Enjoy! My guest today is Greg Lucianoff.

He is the president of the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression and

along with Ricky Schlott is the author of The Cancelling of the American mind.

Hansel culture undermines trust, destroys institutions, and threatens this all, but

there is a solution and he is apparently the sole winner of the Playboy Foundation Freedom of Expression Award.

What are you, okay, we're mostly going to talk about your book.

But I've never been invited to any Playboy events, so I'd like to know what is the

Playboy Foundation Freedom of Expression Award, did you get to go to the mansion?

So the reason why I did get to go to the mansion,

but I didn't get to go to one of the fun parties.

So Christy Hefner, Hugh Hefner's daughter,

you know, ran the run and ran the foundation that UFner set up and for years they

done a Playboy First Amendment Award and it was only in 2007 that they changed the award to the Playboy Freedom

Expression Award and I'm the only one who won it which is which is pretty cool they

made it sort of like a single they used to give four awards they gave a single award, they used to give four awards, they gave a single award back in 2007.
