So right now it's Wednesday.

We were all up late watching the results come in,

and that led to former President Trump's victory in the presidential race.

But it's a political victory that our country is never seen before, nothing like this.

I want to thank the American people for the extraordinary honor of being elected your

47th president and your 45th president.

And this afternoon, we just heard Vice President Kamala Harris concede in a speech at her

alma mater, Howard University in Washington, D.C.

The outcome of this election is not what we wanted, not what we fought for, not what we voted for,

but hear me when I say, hear me when I say, the light of America's promise will always burn bright.

Ashley, you were there in Florida with Trump.

What was it like?

What is it like now?

You know, last night, I was struck again.

I was there in 2016. In 2016, he kind of gave a much more tight, disciplined, unifying speech. And that was not what he did last night. You know, it's like 2.30 a.m. He comes out and it felt like a truncated rally riff. He's a little rambly. He goes on a kind of side tangent about watching Elon's

rocket, you know, come back to Earth. You know, he sent the rocket up two weeks ago,

and I saw that rocket, and I saw it coming down. I saw it. Then was it going to crash? Was it not?

When it left, it was beautiful, shiny white. When it came down, it didn't look so pretty.

He was going 10,000 miles an hour and it was burning like hell.

He attacks the media. I mean, it's not what you think of when you think of someone who is the president-elect accepting that victory for the nation.

But I also wasn't totally surprised because Trump ran on his terms. He ran as himself. He won as himself. And the truth is, the people who voted for

him, some of it wasn't in spite of all of these things that the people who didn't vote for him
