the continuing back and forth going on in Foxborough with Belichick, the quarterback, the owner, et cetera. You know the drill. As promised, we'll get right to your phones. Phil in Providence. What do you got on the Patriots? Hey, guys. So actually, while I was waiting, Rich Eisen is bringing up this topic on his show. So my first question would be with, I think the third QB spot on the roster is one of the most interesting stories right now,

1:00.0

is are they going to go look for a veteran to sort of, you know, cool the waters a bit,

1:05.1

or are they going to go in the draft?

1:06.9

And the second question is, if this goes to an out-and-out competition can't for the spot, do you think the relationship is already too far gone if it gets to that point? I just wanted to hear your thoughts on that. Okay, two things. Mike Giardy reported today that the Patriots are looking for a veteran quarterback. Yeah. Which? Okay. And two is Mack versus Zappi. I don't want to forget that because I got a thought on that too. But the first thing about the veteran quarterback, if I were Robert Kraft, this is one that would piss me off. They just cut Brian Hoyer. And now we know, because they're going after another veteran quarterback to be that guy, the only reason they got rid of him is because Brian Hoyer spoke out last year. Petitness, yeah. He was insubornate. Correct. So this is Bill, again, being a little child. He wants his mole in the quarterback room. Okay, right? So him, Bill, being territorial and all of that. And that's the only reason that Brian Hoyer's gone. And it costs Robert Kraft a million and a half guaranteed dollars. Right. On the Hoyer. They're paying Hoyer a million and a half guaranteed just to go away. And if I'm Robert, I'm looking at Bill going, you just flushed a million and a half bucks down the toilet because you didn't like the way the guy talked. This is freaking stupid. That would piss me off if I were Robert Kraft. And now we've got to go pay for another veteran backup when you had a guy, but you didn't want him just because what? Because he decided to speak his mind? Like, that would piss me off as an owner. Like, you're just bleeding. Now you're just wasting my money because of your pettiness. Well, again, I'm worried as much about the decision-making process as anything else. Robert will get over the million four. No, I know we will. I'm just telling you that, that, but it's more, it's more reflective of Bill's approach on the roster. Like, again, further indication of how he's going to leverage Jones. I want to see who it is. Okay. Now, I don't think the veteran guy's here to leverage Jones, I think he's here to play the Hoyer role. Is my guess, I don't know.

2:50.9

But if they want, I want to see who it is. Okay. Now, I don't think the veteran guy's here to leverage Jones.

3:07.2

I think he's here to play the Hoyer role. Is my guess, I don't know. But if they want to leverage Mack Jones with Bailey Zappy, how do you think Mac Jones responds? Like, the relationship, as the caller asked, between Bill and Mac Jones, has it frayed to the point where that doesn't get what you want out of Mac Jones? You know what I mean? Yeah, could.

3:07.6

Yeah, maybe.

3:10.4

I mean, I don't know that the thing is fixable.

3:07.6

I think that they're. Is it frayed to the point where that doesn't get what you want out of Mac Jones? Could. Yeah, could. Yeah, maybe.

3:27.6

I mean, I don't know that the thing is fixable. I think that they're too much alike. I think that as much as Jones is entitled, Bill's the same problem. Like, I don't know how that gets fixed when neither person is going to try to reach the middle. So it's got to be, Mac Jones has to be that guy that is conducive to being motivated that way.
