Well, I didn't grow up going to church.

And many of you may be like me.

Many of you, maybe were dragged to church every single Sunday or every time the church

doors opened.

But I never went to church growing up.

Was raised in a beautiful home.

An amazing mom and dad who taught my brother and I and provided for us

and just great moral principles and things like that, but crossing the threshold into a church

was not high priority on our list. But I remember being invited one time by a friend to a church

function. I was probably early teens, maybe even just before that,

10, 11, 12 years old. And I said yes to attend a church lock-in. Anyone ever been to a lock-in

before? Right? Eating pizza all night, shooting hooves, giggling, laughing, having fun.

But then there's usually a time where they call everyone to order, right?

And there's a little worship time, and you break up into your small groups and things like that.

Well, I remember breaking up into that small group with my buddy and a few other people we knew from school.

And they're reading through a Bible story,

and they asked, did anyone want to read out loud?

Well, me, I prided myself, even before that, my voice had changed,

and I prided myself on my oratorical skills.

So I raised my hand and said, I'll read.
