Hey there, welcome to another episode of The Shocking Details. I'm Joe, and the guy right across the table from me is

Vincent Caldoni. And today we've got another shocking, terrifying story for you, the story of the

Banyip. Yes, an actual creature of Australia that will kill you horribly.

But actually, well, let's turn to our former zookeeper, Vincent, who is the expert on this topic.

And we'll get a little intro from him.

So tell us all about it, Vincent.

Well, okay, but just in case anyone from the Oregon Zoo is listening, I've never worked as a zookeeper.

I am not a zoologist. I just worked in a zoo.

Well, as far as I'm concerned, anybody, unless you're just the people like picking up the garbage or selling tickets at the front, you're a friggin zookeeper.

So, you know, you're good enough for me.

I did like custodial and maintenance work. That's what I really did. But I got to know a lot' zookeeper. So, you know, you're good enough for me. I did like me. I did like custodial and maintenance work. That's what I, all I really did. But I got to know a lot of

zookeepers. But you did you have relationships with the animals. You talked to the animals.

Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. So there you go around them. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So you knew the animals. So, yeah. All right. So we do get, we do get a fair amount of request to cover cryptids.

And so I have been looking into some of some awesome cryptids.

And I kind of fell down the rabbit hole with this cryptid from Australia called the bunyip.

Let's talk about the bunyp.

Australia, where practically every animal is a cryptid, frankly.

But anyway, a good half of them were cryptids to the first people who saw them. No, no, not at all. Oh, yeah. I mean, yeah. You got a picture of this animal. It's got a head a little like a crocodile. Not exactly, but it's because it's got fur on it, right? It's got dark, deep fur, and often is described as having some pretty intimidating tusks.

It's damp typically in the water.
