Summary

Mississippi State dropped a winnable game at Kentucky in embarrassing fashion. The State offense did not score a single point marking the first time in Mike Leach's career as a head coach that his offense was shut out.

The Bulldog defense played outstanding, but simply could not get any help from the State offense. What needs to be done to fix it?

Welcome to the Boneyard with Steve Robertson. As always, I am your good friend and host, Steve Robertson, here on the magnificent Monday edition of the yard, even though I don't feel very magnificent today, spent a weekend in Lexington, Kentucky. It was not a good experience. And I say that, and that's not a reflection to find folks of the bluegrass or the Commonwealth of Kentucky. It was just a very, very, very, very, very, very miserable weekend.

That said, if you came here looking for a pity party, you're not going to find it,

0:30.4

but I'm not going to sit here and make excuses for anybody.

0:32.5

I'm going to call it exactly as I see it.

0:35.8

And then we're going to move forward and hopefully find a way to win some football games.

I mean, I tell you what, if you're a Mississippi State fan that loves football,

0:52.7

many was a really painful weekend and not just because of what

0:55.4

happened in Lexington, but what happened to Doc Prescott yesterday. And you guys obviously well

1:05.8

They deemed the surgery of success. And now he'll begin rehabilitation.

1:12.5

And if you know anything about DePrescott, he will work even harder and come back even

1:16.8

better.

1:17.2

But the fact that he's on a franchise tag and then a contract year and then suffers a season

1:22.2

ending injury, what does that mean for him economically?

1:24.4

Well, I think Dak was en route to a record-breaking year and, you know,

1:29.6

we put together some huge numbers and was still a player of the game yesterday, even though

1:33.2

that, you know, he left with the injury. And they're nothing malicious about it, but it is very,

1:37.5

very similar to the injury that Nick Fitzgerald suffered, a complex fracture and the displacement

1:43.2

of the foot. And as soon as we all saw it, we knew exactly what it meant.

1:47.1

There was no tape.
