Dr. Stephanie Daher is a researcher at the European Foundation for Democracy, where she specializes in researching radicalisation and extremism in EU Member States as well as in MENA countries, with a particular focus on prisons. She has done a PhD in political science and international relations and currently she's a researcher at the European Foundation for Democracy, a great think tank here in Brussels, working on things like radicalization, which Stephanie is an expert in, but actually much wider than that,
0:57.7	also on disinformation and particular Chinese and Russian disinformation campaigns.

1:14.2	And thank you also for hosting me today. Sure. So let's maybe get into it. For listeners,
1:22.0	what is this information? I mean, it's not easy to define, but according to you, how would you describe
1:28.3	this particular challenge and problem?
1:31.3	Indeed, Peter, this information is a phenomenon which has been expanding rapidly, I would say,
1:40.3	and evolving in an unprecedented matter, but not only in Europe, it's a transnational issue,
1:47.8	which has also been exacerbated by recent sociopolitical issues which have been emerging
1:54.8	and surfacing across several levels. So I would say that the phenomenon of this information or this information
2:02.8	has actually been raiding our TV shows, news, but most importantly and most prominently
2:10.1	are the online channels and platforms. And this is particularly important because over the last few years, this increasing trend
2:21.2	and the catastrophic repercussions, I would say, of the spread of this information has showed
2:27.1	us how it can be manifold and can impact several categories of individuals, most particularly or most prominently the youth.
2:38.4	Yes, and before we go to Russia, which is, of course, let's say, the most obvious and maybe
2:45.0	well-known candidate back from the Soviet base even. Let's maybe start with China. I mean, you are based in Italy.
