Summary

Dr. Thorsten Polleit, a German national, is Chief Economist of Degussa, Europe’s largest precious metal trading house. Before that, he worked for more than 15 years in the international investment banking industry.

Since 2014, Thorsten is honorary professor for economics at the University of Bayreuth. He is Adjunct Scholar of the Ludwig von Mises Institute, Auburn, US Alabama, and president of the Ludwig von Mises Institut Deutschland.

In 2012 he was awarded The O.P. Alford III Prize in Political Economy by the Mises Institute. Thorsten is a value-oriented investor and acts as investment consultant for institutional investors. He published many articles in refereed journals and is the author of various books (“Der Antikapitalist. Ein Weltverbesserer, der keiner ist“ (2020, Finanzbuch Verlag), „Mit Geld zur Weltherrschaft“ (2020, Finanzbuch Verlag), "Ludwig von Mises - der kompromisslose Liberale" (2018, F.A.Z.-Verlag)) .
