It's Zach Jackson and Friends! Thank you. I'm friends. I'm Zach Jackson. This is no longer March. It's April 1st. I am still in Phoenix. Last day, headed home. The NFL owner's meetings are over. I don't want to say productive few days for the Browns, busy few days for the Browns for making headlines, for talking about things.

1:13.0

I would say the Browns get busier next week, April 7th, the start of the offseason program.

1:20.3

Is that a huge day?

1:22.9

No.

1:24.4

You know, every team starts the offseason program.

1:44.6

It comes in layers. It's voluntary. It's what it is. Every team is bigger, stronger, faster, right? Every year, every player's in the best shape of his life and everything's been revamped and everybody's got a new attitude. And that's right. You need to get away before you do it. There are a couple of differences this time around. The Brown's having a new head coach

1:45.8

means they get to start their program two weeks early.

1:48.2

It means they get an extra voluntary mini camp.

1:51.1

So after two weeks, which will mostly be conditioning

1:55.3

and the coaches can't even participate in any throwing drills,

1:59.8

that's how early we are here with this competition and everything.

2:02.6

So that's kind of going to be a theme of the things I talk about.

2:06.5

But the week of the draft, the Browns will have a voluntary minicamp.

2:09.8

And then we will see, you know, quarterbacks, who's first in line, who's operating the offense.

2:18.7

It won't be the full playbook. It won't be the be all and all by any means. They'll probably only be 40 or 45 players

2:23.6

participating when you take into account the voluntary nature that the rookies won't be there.

2:28.8

But it is a step towards this. So as of the other day, Todd Monkin had been the coach for two full months.

2:37.4

This is not an easier instant fix in any regard. The Browns have big decisions to make

2:42.8

and big upgrades. They need to make bigger investments that they need to make. They've made some,

2:48.1

but the quarterback competition really gets started next week. As I talk about the meetings, which I'm certainly going to do here, a lot was made of a little

2:58.5

in multiple cases. The Browns knew that their draft pick proposal to push it to five years out

3:04.6

was not going to pass. They knew that. It didn't even get to vote.
