Summary

How a handful of young Black campaigners challenged racist employment practises in Bristol and against all odds won their case and changed the law. (Not to be confused with the 1969 sit-com 'On The Buses' where Reg Varney made lots of jokes about 'lovely Bristols'.) Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information. 0:56.8

1950s and if Angela's very good, we'll go back even further because she likes a bit of

1:01.0

background. We might mention Ireland in the 1870s. But the Bristol boycott itself happened in

1:07.3

1963. Which incidentally, John, is the same year as the subject of our very first episode, which

was Profumo.
