| 0:00.0 | Nothing in US politics went well this week. We saw the worst in Congress, the worst in our candidates, and the worst in our voting processes. |
| 0:09.0 | We don't know how to explain why so many things unraveled, but we do know that this week needs a doover. |
| 0:15.0 | This is Sarah from the left. And Beth from the right. |
| 0:18.0 | You're listening to Pantsuit politics. |
| 0:20.0 | No shouting, no insults, plenty of nuance. |
| 0:30.0 | Thanks for joining us for another episode of the briefcase. |
| 0:43.0 | We set up a reader survey this week, and we would absolutely love it if all of you who haven't already, and huge thank you to those who have, |
| 0:51.0 | could fill it out. We're trying to get more information on what you guys are looking for, where you're at, for so we can build a better show for all of you. |
| 0:59.0 | And we will pin the surveys at the top of our Facebook page and Twitter feeds so they're easy to find. |
| 1:06.0 | Also, we're still taking orders on the t-shirts. We're officially ordered some, which means we have a finite inventory. |
| 1:12.0 | So if you want a crazy moderate or Pantsuit politics t-shirt, now is the time people go to PantsuitPolitikShow.com and get your t-shirt. |
| 1:21.0 | So we thought on today's episode that we would do our normal Friday feedback, and then actually try to give this horrendous week in politics the doover that we talked about at the top of the show. |
| 1:32.0 | We don't want to be horribly negative, so instead of just being negative, we'll talk about maybe what could or should have happened instead of what did. |
| 1:41.0 | So the first Friday feedback that I thought we'd talk about, we got a great email from Rachel, we love to hear from occasionally. |
| 1:48.0 | And she mentioned an organization called She Should Run, and we'll put some information about this in our show notes. |
| 1:54.0 | Rachel talked about how it usually takes five to ten times to get a woman to believe that she can run for office compared to zero to one time for most men. |
| 2:07.0 | And I liked this note from Rachel. She says, I wholeheartedly believe if women ran everything, everything would be better. |
| 2:14.0 | Not because I believe women are better at everything, but because I know from academic studies that women tend to be consensus driven leaders, while more men tend to be hierarchy driven leaders. |
| 2:24.0 | And I think that's a really good, kind of wrap up of the conversation that we had with Rebecca Traster in terms of translating the information from all the single ladies in a lot of Rebecca Traster. |
| 2:36.0 | Not that we would discourage any men from seeking office either, but certainly that women tend to need more of a push, and we want to be here to do our part in giving that push. |
| 2:47.0 | Well, and the thought I just had when you said consensus driven leaders versus hierarchy driven leaders is, I think that our economy and our world based on technology and sort of ever changing industries and ever changing the world. |
| 3:04.0 | And ever changing environments that technology sort of push consensus driven is more valuable, right? |
