What is up, guys?

I want to welcome you to the very first episode of my brand new podcast here at Roots and Refuge Farm.

My name is Jessica Sowers and my friends call me Jess.

I hope you will too.

I'm sitting here at my table with all of my recording equipment and of course

my ice coffee and I have tried to record this no less than a dozen times over the last

couple of years. I've had in my heart that I wanted to do a podcast for quite a while now,

but I make YouTube videos regularly.

A handful of videos a week over the course of the last handful of years.

At this point, well over a thousand videos.

And though I wanted to make a podcast because I so enjoy podcasts,

I always had this feeling of like,

it's not really the right time and I don't really know what I would say. I've never been the

kind of person that wants to talk just for the sake of talking and I didn't quite have my head

wrapped around the purpose of doing this. But I do now and I'm going to get to that here in

just a little bit. I'm assuming that

if you are listening to this right now, you know who we are from our other media platforms. However,

for the sake of posterity, I would like to go ahead and sort of lay a foundation, tell you a little

bit about our story, how we got to where we are, who we are,

and kind of what you can expect from this podcast.

So my name, like I said, is Jess.

My husband is Jeremiah.
