Hey, guys, and welcome to the Moms and Murder podcast, a true crime podcast featuring myself, Mandy, and my dear friend Melissa. Hi, Melissa. Hi, Mandy. How are you? I'm doing all right. I feel like my anxiety is a little high today and this week in general. Yeah. So I don't know. I think I've

mentioned maybe once on the show before that I do bodybuilding now. So that's just a thing that I do.

And I'm in the middle of getting ready for my next competition. And so I feel like everything just feels a lot more intense than it really is for me

right now. You know, I kind of feel like I have a lot on my plate and a lot going on. And so my

anxiety is already kind of heightened, just going into like this, you know, next story. So yeah,

so my family and I decided to get out of the house a little bit this weekend. It is Mother's Day

weekend. So we took the boat out and, you know, just wanted to have a nice Saturday. It was. It was really

nice, except that my dog, Lila, fell out of the boat while it was moving. And we just talked about

last week on the podcast how water is just so terrifying to me. And all the time, you know, every time we take the boat out or go out near water, I'm always so scared that something is going to happen that day and something terrible. You know, I'm always convinced of it. Yeah. Yeah. So she normally wears a little life jacket, but she didn't have it on because I was stupid and said she didn't need to wear it today. And she fell out of the boat. So that was really scary. We had to turn around. She was fighting for her life. She's never swam before. So that was kind of part of what made it so scary. Oh my gosh. Yeah. So she figured it out. She figured out how to at least keep her head above water. But my husband had to jump in. And then I had to like take over steering the boat which is like

not something I'm really comfortable with and so yeah so it's been a whole it's been a

whole Saturday for me oh that's terrible yeah no mm-mm yeah I remember my sister at her old

house they lived like on this property that had a lake and they were like,

oh yeah, bring you know your son out there, blah, blah, blah, bring him out there. He falls out

and I have to get him out with one hand. Oh my gosh. My left arm. And everybody's screaming from

shore and I'm like psychotically saying, I'm okay, you're okay. We're all okay, which is like

something I learned in lifeguard training. Right. Like with my like that, I'm okay, you're okay, we're all okay, which is like something I learned in

lifeguard training. Right. Like with my, like that, I still have nightmares about that. Like,

I fully think, I hope you sleep well tonight. I mean that in the nicest way. It sounds like I'm

threatening you, but like I hope you sleep well tonight because it is like it's just something that

you'll replay in your head a bazillion times, but you'll never ever not have her wear it again yeah oh my gosh definitely yeah

one second i mean and it was it was really wearing in the car yeah for real it was scary um and then of course

when my husband jumped in and by that point like we had already gotten kind of far away you know from
