Welcome on to our final gamer podcast of the 2023-24 NBA season,

The Boston Celtics complete an absolute dominant run and they are very worthy NBA champions.

Before we kind of get into some of the legacy talk and just summarize this season

and some of the great performances that got the Celtics to this point.

Let's just talk about what took place in this one, which despite a little bit of false dawn for the Mavericks in game four was the Kappa on an absolutely dominant

final series by the Celtics.

It was and we wondered, you know the Mabs did find some things in game four and so we wondered whether those

were going to carry over to game five and and mostly they did not and Joe Missoula and the

Celtics deserve a lot of credit for coming up with ways to attack what Dallas was doing.

And I thought the most notable of those wrinkles

was using cutting and ghost screening

to take advantage of Dallas's more aggressive switching approaches.

Yeah, Luca, out in space, they took advantage of him mostly as a one-on-one defender in the first few

games, particularly game three, and then he held up much better in isolation with, of course, that room

protection behind him as they had started to zone up more behind the players we talked about

pretty extensively after game four.

So something that they had some success with in the first two games

where they really got into with Holiday and particularly early

was ghosting out of screens early or even just slipping screens to the basket rather than ghosting them

to the which is usually more towards the side and a popping type of action and especially

what they would do is try to get some of the Mabs less experience on

ball pick and roll defenders on the ball first before doing that so you had guys
