Summary

Some consider it biblical fan fiction, others an important addendum to the bible. In Ethiopia they include it in their bible. I was asked by a few people to read the book of Enoch, it is certainly a little different to read this on the channel but why not, lets see what we can learn from it. Found in the Qumran caves of the Dead Sea Scrolls (Qumran Cave 4) and presumed to be written before 170 BC, chapters 1-36 of 1 Enoch are also referred to as ‘The Book of the Watchers.’ These passages are also known to incorporate portions of the ‘Book of Noah.’The theme of the Watchers is final judgment and incorporates the expository background of one of the most spectacularly glossed-over, overlooked, and misunderstood Scriptures in the Bible – Genesis 6:1-4. The “sons of God” referred to in Genesis 6:2 are explained in detail in The Book of the Watchers. These Watchers were supposed to be “watching’ the earth as part of their heavenly ministry, but instead they transgressed and became fallen angels. How did they become fallen angels? They saw that women on earth were pleasant to look at and schemed/colluded to somehow incarnate themselves (literally celestial or, dare we say, ‘extraterrestrial’ beings manifesting in some kind of physical form) in order to impregnate women and corrupt the bloodline of humans. 0:13.1	book of the watchers from the book of Enoch in a previous episode. I didn't really know how it would do,
0:20.5	but I was surprised that it did rather well,
0:23.1	and I had several additional requests to keep on going. There are several books in the book of
0:28.8	Enoch. The book of Enoch is an ancient Hebrew apocalyptic religious text ascribed by tradition
0:36.1	to the patriarch Enoch, who is the great-grandfather of Noah.
0:40.8	The book of Enoch contains unique material on the origins of demons and Nephilim,
0:47.1	why some angels fell from heaven, an explanation of why the genesis's flood was morally necessary,
0:56.3	and prophetic exposition of the thousand-year reign of the Messiah. Three books are traditionally attributed to Enoch,
1:01.6	including the distinct works, second Enoch and third Enoch. None of the three books are
1:06.7	considered to be canonical in Scripture, which is why I am fascinated with it. I don't like to be
1:14.0	programmed. And so when I'm given the Bible and I study the Bible and there are books that are
1:18.6	missing that some portions of Christianity at one time or another, and currently in Ethiopian churches,
1:31.2	why was this book not included in the Bible?
1:33.9	I want to know, so I want to read it.
1:35.5	And we read the book of the Watchers.
1:41.6	For some, this could be treated like nothing but fan fiction.
1:46.4	But at the same time, the language is identical to the Bible.
1:48.9	It is a style of writing.
1:53.6	It is biblical-styled writing, which in and of itself is pretty difficult.
1:59.3	Even if it was somebody that came along and wrote it, it's still very fascinating.
2:03.1	Obviously, there is something missing from the flood story as to why God would do that. It's very disconcerting as somebody that likes good fiction,
