This podcast returns to the series Partisans that started late last year.

Created by myself in Stuart Redden, it tells the story of Irish experiences in the Spanish Civil War.

Now this episode is a vivid account of the two groups of Irish people who travelled to Spain in late 1936 to fight in that war.

These were the Irish Brigade led by Ono Duffy, Ireland's most well-known fascist and the

international brigades who traveled to fight on the anti-fascist side.

This will give you a sense why these people traveled to a country they knew little about to risk their lives, how they got there and what their initial

impressions of Spain were.
