In the previous chapters, Valency had asked Barney Snaith to marry her, who quite calmly agreed,

and they were then married the very next day.

Valency quickly fell in love with Barney's home on the small island in Mr. Whiss, and after

a few days, finally returned home to tell her family she was not returning, much to their

horror and disapproval.

This, however, did not bother Valencii, who was so happy in her new life she'd quite forgotten about her heart condition.

Now that we're caught up with the story so far, let's get ourselves ready for sleep.
