You wake in a strange room.

Your clothes are foreign and the walls are covered in objects from a different world.

You don't know where or when you are, or if you're still dreaming.

Jumping up, you race out of the room and into the streets.

...were... Charles Darwin discovered something on his voyages that changed the world.

He discovered a type of bird that morphed or varied from one island to the next.

All these birds seemed to be related, but their bodies, their beaks,

were finely honed to the unique environments of each island. From our tiny fossil record,

we learned that human showed similar adaptive qualities in their early days.

But it wasn't until Dr. Karlovsky and the time machine

that we learned just how truly diverse our ancestors were.

Dr. Karlovsky has shown that every valley, every jungle, every savannah seems to have its own variation of the human form.

Ancient Africa is a hominid nursery, a vibrant market of genetic material.

And before you imagine all these hominids to be mere hairy apes, I should tell you that we are not the most successful hominid in the multiverse.

In fact, and this may blow your mind, we're not the only species who is able to time travel.

Other hominids visit us just as we visit them.

Maybe one of these days you'll explore one of their ultra-futuristic versions of Earth.
