Today, we're going to talk about Oscar Pestroius, a South African professional sprinter with

the nickname Blade Runner. He shot and killed his girlfriend Reva Steencamp on Valentine's Day

2013 in his home. And if you've never heard of Oscar, you need to know that he's a double

amputee of his legs, like Lieutenant Dan.

And I know what you're saying. Joe, how can he be a sprinter, especially on the Olympic level, if he doesn't even have legs?

Well, he wears these prosthetics that they look like blades, allow them to run and also that's where

the nickname blade runner comes in so let's get to it in in 2008 Oscar set

para-olympic records and walked away with three gold medals.

He continued his success at the 2012 Paralympics.

In 2012, he also competed in the Summer Olympics, being the first amputee runner to ever compete.

He is successful, wealthy, and well-known. He's been linked to numerous models

romantically, and he seemed to like the attention. On Valentine's Day in 2013, his success

would run out. His girlfriend, dead, and his freedom, gone. During his trial, the counsel for Oscar describes the night he took
