In May of 1975, a 45-year-old father of two named Frank Kelly was fighting for his life in the hospital in Anniston, Alabama.

Frank had always been super healthy. He basically never needed to go to the doctor.

But over the past year, Frank had been

experiencing this mysterious sickness. It started with nausea. Then, he couldn't stop throwing up.

Eventually, he became basically too weak to walk. He first went to his doctor on May 19th. He said he had this extreme nausea and stomach tenderness.

The doctor thought that he had a viral stomach ache. But after his condition continued to get even

worse, Frank was admitted to the hospital on May 23rd. At this point, the doctors thought that he

had something called infectious hepatitis.

His family, which was his wife Marie and his children, Carol and Mike, were terrified. They were

at his bedside constantly. Then, very suddenly, in the early morning hours of May 25, 1975,

Frank Hilly died. His family was shocked, and it was so sudden that the doctor

asked for an autopsy. The autopsy showed that Frank had hepatitis. He also had swelling of the

kidneys and the lungs, bilateral pneumonia and an inflammation of the stomach. The cause of death was determined to be infectious hepatitis.

It wasn't until four years later in 1979

that a series of events, including several poisonings,

meant that Frank's body was exhumed for testing again.

This time, they did more specific forensic testing.

And this testing would reveal that Frank Hilly had extremely high levels of arsenic in his body.

Ranging anywhere, doctor said, from 10 to 100 times the average amount that a person would have,

an amount that would have been

impossible for him to ingest naturally. At this point, everyone knew that Frank Hilly had been

poisoned. And his wife, Marie, was the prime suspect. Now, this case has had its share of one-hour
