What happens when a case has more supernatural leads than, quote, normal ones.

On August 20th, 1966, two men were found dead and began what is still considered one of Brazil's

most infamous cold cases. So, if you like your coffee hot but your bones chilled, sit back

and start your day with a morning cup of murder. On August 20th and 1866, a young boy was

atop Moro du Vitem in Rio de Janeiro flying his kite when he stumbled upon something shocking.

Lying there were the bodies of not one but two deceased men next to one another with grass

partially covering them. The young boy immediately

fled to contact authorities, and after trekking through the rough terrain to get to the spot,

a small team of police and firefighters finally made their way to a scene that only seemed to

get stranger by the second. Not only were their two bodies seemingly abandoned on the top of a hill, but both

were dressed in formal suits, a waterproof coat, and lying on their faces were lead eye masks.

Seemingly homemade, these metal pieces were like lead blindfolds, meant to completely cover their

eyes, making it impossible to see, but leave the

rest of their face exposed. Searching further, first responders found no signs of major trauma,

nor any evidence of a struggle, almost as if the men walked up there themselves and laid down

together to die. Next to their bodies was an empty water bottle, a packet containing two wet towels, some cash,

and a notebook inside of one of the men's pockets with a cryptic message that, translated

to English, read, 1630, be at the specified location. 1830, ingest capsules.
