I was recently contacted by one of the CEOs who has been through our business master class twice.

He's an awesome guy.

And not only do I respect his incredible success,

I also really like the guy as a human being. He reached out to me through Julie to ask if I would

invest in what he called, quote, the most exciting business concept I've ever been

involved in in 38 years of entrepreneurship and the best team I've ever assembled to

execute on an opportunity." End quote. The description of his company did sound interesting,

something I probably would even become a customer of when it is developed. He offered a significant

discount on the seed round as further enticement to me,

suggesting it would immediately be worth 10 times by just the Series A round ahead, and then

ultimately a billion-dollar plus company. The decision to do it or not do it, or even

proceeds to ask questions and investigate further, was easy because it was a

non-decision. I made that decision several years ago. You see, I made one decision several years ago

that eliminates this decision entirely. I no longer invest in anyone else's companies. Period, full stop, no other

variable after that matters. This is what's called finding single decisions

that remove hundreds or even thousands of decisions in the future. After this was

communicated, he responded with, I can understand that position. As an

alternative, how would Darren feel about receiving equity as compensation for being an advisor? To which

I was also able to quickly and easily reply with, not being on any other boards is also a single

decision that I made to eliminate these
