Summary

A BOOMING start for the Big 12 Conference, as Heartland College Sports' Pete Mundo discusses how the league is off to a 2-0 start in bowl season with wins over the SEC and ACC. But how many more wins does the Big 12 need to call it a success this bowl season?

Also, Mundo talks about whether or not Kyle Whittingham is the enemy as he leaves for Michigan and poaches from the Big 12? And the James Nnaji story takes the next step as Tom Izzo rips on Baylor and Scott Drew for bringing in the former NBA Draft pick.

And for BYU and the

0:56.0

Big 12, this was critically important. This was a team that for many of us thought should have

1:02.9

been in the college football playoff. They had the two losses to Texas Tech. That was it.

1:07.1

They were taken on a good ACC team, a top 25 team in Georgia Tech that just couldn't make the

1:12.1

ACC championship game because of tiebreakers and things of that nature. But they were supposed to

1:18.1

play Notre Dame. And then, of course, the Irish backed out of the postseason. So now they've got

1:23.1

Georgia Tech. And if BYU had not won this game, the narrative would have been, see, we told you so.

1:31.1

Now, here's the deal. BYU was without its best offensive player in L.J. Martin and its best

1:36.6

defensive player in Jack Kelly. They both didn't play due to injuries. And the fact that BYU down 2110 in the second half is able to storm back

1:47.9

mostly in the fourth quarter and win this game 2521 over the yellow jackets is a testament to the

program and the depth that Kalani Sataki has built over the last several years in this transition to the
