Well, we officially have the quotes of the year in the Big 12, at least to date.

college football season. So the quote from Gordon G, who's the West Virginia president,

is as good as it gets. First off, if you'd miss the news

late last week, the Big 12 is in very good shape financially. They have distributed $38.8 million

to each of their schools up from $36.5 million last season. This is partially because both Oklahoma and Texas

made New Year 6 bowl, so the Big 12 got an additional $6 million in revenue. So good stuff all

around, no complaints. But the quote from Gordon G that was just fantastic was as follows.

He said, quote, money is not the most important thing, but it's certainly ahead of what's in second place.

And I just love that because there was a good article written by Chuck Carlton of the Dallas Morning News.

And he talked about how

Bob Bullsby said, it's not all about the money, and I'll get to that more here coming up.

But let's not kid ourselves. The stability that the Big 12 has at the present time is, in large

part, because of the money that is coming in. And because of the money that is coming in,

this conference is as stable and as healthy and as cohesive as it's been,
