time. It's time for another edition of fighting for the faith. It's Monday, September 21st, 2009. And I think once again I've probably over prepared. Oh, Thank you are listening to fighting for the faith. My name is Chris Roseborough and I am your servant in Jesus Christ and this is the program that dishes up a daily dose of biblical

discernment. The goal of which is to get you to think bibically, to get you to think

critically, and to help you compare what people are saying in the name of God to the word of God.

There are some very seductive and that's heresies, that's the right word for it.

There are some very seductive heresies and

false doctrine running through the church right now a church that is completely

unbuckled itself from God's word and has abandoned the truth of scripture in the biblical gospel for these phony

three dollar bill emergent secret driven ideas or worse, the prosperity type gospelish stuff that's running around out there.

And I got to tell you, this stuff is just deadly.

So this program does the tough work of comparing what people are saying in the name

of God to the word of God because here's the deal. God's word is truth. And heaven and earth will pass away but God's word will not.

So if somebody's out there telling you that God is like this or that such and such is going

to happen in the name of God or that this is what how we're to behave as

Christians or this is what we're supposed to think and their doctrine what they're

teaching by the way everybody has doctrine it's everybody has doctrine.

There's either true doctrine or false doctrine, and doctrine is nothing more than a biblical term that has to do with the content of teaching of what it is that's being taught

so i don't care if you sit there and go well you know doctrine is a four letter

word and we're we don't have any doctrine except for the Bible itself. Well, that statement itself is doctrine.

So don't sit there and tell me about how terrible the idea of doctrine is and because that's a doctrine in and of itself.

Again, lots of self-defeating ideas running around out there.
