The Bible covers a ton of subjects, but here's the question. What does it emphasize? Now, if you were to just answer that question by looking at the internet and what is being produced, it would seem as though obedience is what the Bible emphasizes, what we need to be doing. Now, listen, obedience is important.

But if you step back and ask yourself, is that what the Bible emphasizes as its message?

My argument is no.

You need to hear me out.

I'm not saying obedience is important.

There's a difference between the rules of the game and what the game is for.

What does the Bible actually give us as its importance?

What does the Bible emphasize?

Modern Christianity often speaks the language of the Bible while reversing its priorities.

Scripture does not center the Christian life on what we do for Christ, but on what Christ

has done for us.

Faith is not a footnote in the Bible, it is the engine.

Obedience is never the source of life.

It is the fruit. From beginning to end, the Bible emphasizes

God acting first. He rescues before he commands. He redeems before he instructs. Sinners are

justified while ungodly, not after they prove themselves faithful. Yet much of modern Christianity

shifts the focus.

Obedience becomes the priority.

Faith becomes the starting line.
