Today, we're preparing to celebrate historic moment

in the history of the global church and the Word of God.

If you wouldn't mind today at all of our life church locations,

if you're watching on your sofa,

even would you mind just standing to your feet in honor of the reading of the Word of God.

From both John 1 and Hebrews 4,

in the beginning was the Word,

and the Word was with God,

and the Word was God.

That Word became flesh, His name was Jesus, and He dwelt among us.

What do we know about the Word? Hebrews 4 tells us,

for the Word of God is alive and is active.

We're not talking about the Word of people, we're talking about the Word of God,

because the Word of people may inform us,

but the Word of God transforms us.

For the Word of God is alive, it's active.

It's sharper than any double ed sword.

It penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow.

It judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

And that's why the title of today's message is,

the Bible is alive.
