The first thing I want to tell you is I have two favorite holidays.

They are Thanksgiving and Yum Kippur.

Yum Kippur couldn't be more different in many ways than Thanksgiving, but I feel like

I love them both for very different reasons.

Yum Kippur, it's known as the day of atonement.

Part of the rules of Yum Kippur is you fast from everything physical, you fast from sex,

you fast from food, a lot of people dread Yum Kippur, a lot of Jews don't even like it.

But for some reason I've always loved it, I've always felt like so connected to something

bigger, when I remove all these other distractions, I'm really able to get into my head and really

able to sort of feel the world around me without anything to numb it.

But there's more that I love about Thanksgiving that doesn't have to do with eating.

And that is that it is the one day somehow from my whole childhood that's been preserved

as a good day.
