We made it to a Wednesday.

It's the Espies, the greatest night in sports,

having been through quite a few of those,

including the very first Espies.

I remember when we really had to go out of our way

to get athletes to show up. Like, what do you need? And I always go back to the Ken Griffey Jr.

SPs, where he said, I'll show up. You have to get a copy of every single home run that I've ever

hit in Major League history and give that to my mom.

So you probably had a couple of production assistants at the mothership.

They're scrambling to find whatever, 500 home runs so we could get Ken Griffey Jr. to show up at the SPs.

But you got Steph Curry hosting tonight. I, you know, I wondered

about this with Steph. Like, why would you do that? A lot of pressure. I could see Saturday

night live because that's a little bit more scripted. There's a lot more comedy. It's not just

based on you. But the SPs, it's a little bit,

you know, you're out there. You're a man on an island. And we've seen a lot of people do really well.

You know, Peyton Manning was wonderful there. Lance Armstrong did a good job. John Sina. I mean,

there have been quite a few hosts who have done it, you know, singularly,

but you're out there, got to take a couple of shots at some people, but Steph is on scholarship

right now. And this might be one of those where Steph goes, you know, I'm going to play basketball

for three or four more years. Maybe I can be in partnership with ESPN.
