I was mentioning to Sherry and Max off mic before we began. Yesterday, I was sitting in my sunroom studio here.

And I looked out on my backyard and right there on the little railing to the steps that goes down into my backyard was the most beautiful bright red cardinal and cardinals are one of my favorite birds

they may be my favorite birds cardinals and hummingbirds i have a hummingbird feeder right next to my

window here too and i looked at that thing and i, am I right to assume that the bright red cardinals are male cardinals?

And the more subtly colored cardinals are the female cardinals.

I believe that is correct, yes.

Yes.

I think it is.

That's right.

Because, you know, as a human being, you think, well, it should be the other way because

human males, for the most part, with the exception of golfers and Bob Lacey when he gets

like a wild hair to buy yellow pants, most men are more subtly dressed than women are. But from what I've read, the idea

is that the cardinal, the male cardinal, is looking for a mate and, you know, has to be

attractive and eye-catching because, you know, wants to get, wants to get that mating thing going

there. And so that's why they're red.

That's true across the, that's true across the animal kingdom.

I mean, have you ever seen two ducks floating together down the stream?
