And as you may have noticed, this is not the Ace Ventura episode that we announced last week.

If you've been listening for a while, you might be aware that there's sort of a whole mythology

that's built up around all of our lost episodes.

We did a whole special about it back in 2015.

And that's the thing. Ace Ventura was our first lost episode in five years. In the first two years of the show, we had so many of them

for the last five, not a one. So look, this is unfortunate. I know a lot of you are probably

disappointed. The three of us are

always upset when this happens. But unlike some of the others, there's no complicated backstory for

this one. We're still recording remotely. Three separate recording setups means it's now three

times as likely something might go wrong. And something did. We had some technical difficulties and quite simply there was

just nothing we could do about this. Now, I will say, unlike some of the others, this one is not

completely lost. I still have two-thirds of the conversation. So even though I probably won't

release the entirety of that, I might see if there are some extended clips that are

worth salvaging, maybe posting over on Patreon or something like that. But that's tentative.

This just happened. So we're still trying to figure all of this out, which brings us to this.

We knew we needed to get something out as soon as possible. And we knew rather than trying to pull together a new regular episode in just a day or two

or just redoing the Ace Ventura episode, which is just never our move in these situations,

we were more into the idea of breaking from the usual format and doing a fun, one-off sort of thing. So for our patrons,
