I once again visited Telluride, Colorado for their intimate annual celebration of cinema,

while Amanda returned to Europe for the 82nd Venice International Film Festival. Amanda, how are you? I'm great. I'm still in Europe. You're in Europe. We're going to get to that in one moment. A couple of programming reminders here. We're going to talk about our favorite films from the festivals. We are going to talk about the films that we're looking forward to this fall, the ones that we haven't seen. Now, you've seen a lot. I've seen a lot, but there's still a lot of holes. We're going to talk about probably the best picture race and where it stands for the first time this entire season. And then later in this episode, I have a conversation with Alex Russell. He's the first time writer-director of one of the pleasant surprises of the year, a film called Lurker. It's a music industry thriller. I don't want to spoil anything about it.
