about just a common question that I get from a lot of different people that email me.

And it is this, what books would you recommend to someone just starting out in hydroponics?

Really good question, because there are a lot of bad books and there are very few good books.

The information you can find online for hydroponics can be confusing and contradictory.

In fact, that's why I started epic gardening in the first place.

I wanted to create a site where I could share what I've learned about gardening,

be it urban gardening, hydroponic, aquaponic,

or good old-fashioned soil.

But I get the question about hydroponic books

so often that I figured I'd do an episode on it.

So the ones that follow will be my

personal favorites. They all have upsides and downsides, but I try to focus on books

that give you a deep understanding of how growing hydroponically works,

instead of just the simple how-to books,

although I have included a few of those.

Okay, the first book we'll talk about

is called Hobby Hydroponics. It's by Howard Resch. So if you don't know

who Howard Resch is, he's considered one of the best known hydroponics educators and

practitioners.

Granted, it's a small field, but Resch has done some awesome things
