Hello, everybody, and welcome to The Total Soccer Show.

My name is Taylor Rockwell.

Daryl Grove is not with me.

He is instead in Boston getting treatment and then seeing uncut gems, so he will return

both healthier and more stressed out if my moviegoing experience was any indicator.

In his absence, I spoke with Sam Tye of the BR Football Ranks podcast. He's been on the show before. He'll be on again because he's terrific. Sam was a great guest and went deep on his favorite move of the January window, as well as the strangest one. Plus, we take a look at the current squad depth of some of Europe's biggest clubs, ponder what they might need to do in the summer to stay on top or what they might need to do with the remainder of their season to stay on top or get on top, who knows. Sam was also good enough to do a semi-rapid fire game of stay or go. That's a new one for us, in which I give him a player. He tells me if that player will stay with his current club or be on the move this summer. There's nine or so big-name players in there,

but there's also many, many other topics discussed that I'm not even going to mention here

because that would take too long, and it would be too long of an introduction,

and who wants to hear an introduction when they can hear Sam?

So I'll leave it there and instead say,

He is, according to my notes, devastatingly handsome, laid back. What have we got? An avid gardener, a Guinness drinker, a patte connoisseur. Yeah, I mean, half of that was a joke, but I'll take it, I'll take it. and next time i come on I'll give you a load more to read out so that would be like the first 30 minutes of the show hey it's my second appearance and Darrell's not been on either does he just not like me that's pretty much it that's pretty much it no it is not he very much enjoys you and very much enjoys your appearances on the show we tend to have more guests when he is out of town he's in boston getting. So then I book guests. You were one of the first I reached out to because we have many things to talk about. The January window is closed. We're going to get into some of the deals that happened as well as some of the deals that may happen in the summer. But I will make sure that Daryl sends you an apology sometime in the next week because I think he definitely owes it to you. Okay, yeah, do that. And before we even get to the transfers, we are the Total Soccer Show, but we're going to talk American football for a moment because I should note that in my list of things that you are, it seems you're also a Super Bowl watcher, is that correct? I am, yes. I'm a fairly avid NFL fan. I've supported the Detroit Lions for some reason,

and I watch most of the games, and most Sundays, I'm kicking back on the sofa and watching

NFL once the football stops. So, yeah, I mean, Super Bowl is an absolute tradition here in this household

as much as it is anywhere else. And nachos were made, I understand.

Oh, man, I ate all the naturalists before kickoff because they do, well, I was hungry for

a start.

I was thinking about making, like Super Bowl, the official kickoff time in England is 1130.

Yeah.

But as we all know, nothing in the NFL actually happens on time.
