This day August 2012, the U.S. Mission in Benghazi, Libya, convenes an emergency meeting a day earlier

a secret cable had been sent explaining that the consulate could not defend against a quote

coordinated attack.

Less than a month later on September 11, 2012, there was an attack on the consulate in

Benghazi damaging the compound and leading to four deaths.

Ambassador Chris Stevens, an information officer Sean Smith, and two CIA Operatives,

Glenn Dardy and Tyron Woods, both of whom were former Navy SEALs.

We are reaching the 10th anniversary of the Benghazi attacks and to my mind, despite all the

chatter about the Benghazi attack and the deep politicization of it that took place in the years after. the what it is was the waters have been so so muddied but I will say if there's anyone who might have an answer to the question of what exactly was Benghazi it is
