I want to draw your attention back into the first chapter of Ephesians, and I want us to look at verses 11 through 14.

And that is the final blessing.

We have already talked about the fact that in verse 3 we have that amazing promise, blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ.

Then we said the primary and first blessing was election verses 4 through 6.

We were chosen in Him before the foundation of the world in predestined to be adopted.

The second blessing was redemption in verse 7 in Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses,

according to the riches of His grace.

And as we come to verse 11 we come to the final blessing.

Election happened in the past, redemption is going on in the present.

This is the future.

Verse 11 also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will,

to the end that we who were the first to hope in Christ would be to the praise of His glory.
