Okay, today we have a very special guest,

and this conversation is important to all of us.

Because every single person who touches patients

understands that in the last 10 or 15 years

we've seen a sea change, a dramatic shift in what's going on

on our frontlines in the emergency departments.

And that is the surge in behavioral health crises.

In other words, people seeking care for behavioral health issues.

And they are overwhelming our capacity and our training

and our ability to care for them as anything less than subhumans.

Now that sounds provocative,

but that's what's effectively happening right now
