Hey, everybody. This isn't one of our normal episodes. This is a conversation we had with the new head brewer for New Bromfels Brewing Company, a Texas brewery whose beers we've had a lot of negative experiences within the past. A little context. Last week, I released an extra episode where I served four of their beers and a blind tasting to the rest of the crew. If you haven't listened to it, do that.

It's called a blind second chance.

And I think this episode will be much more interesting if you're coming into it with that

one in your mind.

Anyway, the idea for that blind second chance episode came about from a conversation on a local

Facebook beer group about New Bromfels Brewing Company and the quality of their beers.

A member of the group mentioned that New Bromful's beers were terrible, and the owner of the

brewery Kelly Meyer responded in a knee-jerk sort of defensive way, and a bunch of internet

comment wank went back and forth between him and the members of the group, and a short while

later, to his credit, Kelly collected himself, came back on and

apologized for his behavior, and told us that they'd sincerely gotten a handle on a lot of

problems they'd previously had with their beers.

And I'm very familiar with those problems because since I first had their beers in 2012,

every single experience I've had with their

beer was marred by a slew of dominant off flavors and terrible execution.

So yeah, Kelly acknowledged that there had been problems and that steps had been taken to rectify

them.

And then he went a step further and through the group of free private tasting, where they

serve bottles of their latest batches,

brewed by their new head brewer, former head brewer at Three Stars Brewing Company in Washington, Nathan Rice.

I unfortunately couldn't make it to that tasting, which I'd heard a few positive responses about,

so I went to the store and bought some of their bottles and served it to the rest of the
