Summary
Last year, we had our first taste of TRVE in Denver and immediately fell in love. The only problem was that the only way we could feature them on an episode was to record it at the brewery. So we did. And it was METAL.
The Beerists are: John Rubio, Anastacia Kelly, Mike Lambert, and Zach Coleman.

| 0:00.0 | Episode 188 of the beerists podcast recorded in Denver on September 25, 2015. |
| 0:16.3 | True Brewing Company. |
| 0:35.0 | Hey, everyone, John Rubio here with a bit of a different episode than you're used to. |
| 0:39.2 | Last year, during our visit to Denver for JABF, we had our first taste of beer from True Brewing Company in their tap room. We tried their entire tap line up and |
| 0:43.9 | we're floored by what we tasted and we really love their whole heavy metal theme of their |
| 0:47.7 | bar. They have a tap wall set up to look like an altar and all these great pieces of art and murals. |
| 0:53.3 | It's fucking awesome. |
| 0:54.8 | And if you go back to our 2014 GABF episode, which is episode 137, you're going to hear a short |
| 1:00.1 | interview we did with head brewer, Zach Coleman, where we touch on a little of all that. |
| 1:04.8 | Now, as the weeks went on after coming back to Austin, one of my biggest regrets from last |
| 1:08.3 | year was not recording a full spotlight episode featuring True's beer while we were there. |
| 1:13.5 | I mean, they're a tiny brewery, and we would have had to record the episode on location as they don't really package anything aside from their special releases, which they put out from time to time and sell in very small amounts. |
| 1:24.9 | Now, we could have gotten some of those, but we didn't want to limit ourselves to just those things. I mean, the regular tap lineup was spectacular. So this year, |
| 1:33.0 | when GABF time rolled around again, I reached out to Zach and asked if he would mind us coming |
| 1:38.1 | over to record an episode. He was into the idea, and he and Brewer, Alison Huffman, were also willing |
| 1:43.7 | to sit and talk with us |
| 1:45.0 | and talk us through the beers that we were tasting, you know, ingredients, brewing philosophy, |
| 1:49.3 | and a bunch of other stuff that we only usually get to speculate on. And speaking of which, |
| 1:53.7 | one of the things that we found out in talking to them was that all of their beers were |
| 1:57.8 | inspired and named after a particular metal song. I mean, they're super in a heavy metal over there. |
| 2:02.3 | So it makes sense for them to do. |
| 2:04.3 | And I had them send me a list of all the songs that inspired the names and the beers that we |
