All right, how are we going to pray according to God's Word to us in the Song of Solomon?

There's so much we could talk about with this book and so much that is a little more challenging

appropriate for all ages knowing. So the picture we have in the Book of Song of Solomon is a picture

of love between a husband and a wife, between two people made in the image of God, male and

female, and created to enjoy one

another in sexual relationship with one another. And that, if you were one of those parents,

that's about as far as we're going to try to go in these Pray the Word episodes. But this

book is really important because it's a powerful, beautiful picture of God's

good design for marriage, going all the way back to Genesis chapter 2 when a man and woman come

together in one flesh marriage. And then the way that points us to Ephesians chapter 5 and the reality that God designed marriage

this way to be a picture of Jesus' love for the church and the church's love for Jesus.

So I would not be of the understanding that Song of Solomon is an allegory that's intended to

just depict in all these specific ways, the relationship between Christ and his church.

But marriage absolutely is a picture of the relationship between Christ and his church.

And in this way, the Book of Song of Solomon, as it reflects the beauty of marriage,

is absolutely a picture of Christ's love for the church in ways that every person who's listening
