Summary

What are the seven sacraments… and why do they matter so much for our life with God?

In this video, Steph Salinas walks us through the beauty, meaning, and lived reality of the seven sacraments of the Catholic Church and how they root us in God’s grace, strengthen us for the journey, and draw us into deeper union with Christ and His Church.

Steph shares from her years as a Director of Religious Education, witnessing countless young people and families encounter Jesus through the sacraments. From Baptism to Matrimony, she reflects on what we see—water, oil, vows, laying on of hands—and the invisible grace that’s truly taking place beneath it all.Whether you’re preparing to receive a sacrament, guiding someone else, or rediscovering the beauty of your own, this teaching will help you see the sacraments not as rituals… but as God’s outpouring of love.

Hi friends, my name is Steph Salinas and I'm going to be sharing with you on the seven sacraments of the Catholic Church.

Now I wanted to start off with a story. I used to serve as a director of religious education at my parish for probably about eight years.

0:19.6

And my love for ministry actually started

0:22.6

through youth ministry and I thought I just wanted to talk to teens my whole life about

Jesus and how much he loves them but one thing I didn't realize was that my

formation was awesome, but there was nothing like the first time I got to witness

1:05.9

a sacraments mass. And here in our diocese of Phoenix we actually are part of the

1:10.2

restored order so So I was

1:11.8

witnessing a young person receiving confirmation and First Holy Communion at the same time.

1:16.6

That was different to me because as I was growing up, I didn't get to receive my confirmation

1:21.8

until I was in high school. So being able to witness a young person, a younger person,

1:26.6

receiving these sacraments was really

1:29.0

inspiring.

1:30.0

Now, I remember the first time I got to witness just a crowd of young people sitting

and kneeling in their pews and the bishop laying his hands over them, along with the
