Hey I'm Brian Hyatt and this is Rolling Stone Music Now. Despite the holiday we have a

0:06.1

brand new episode for you today. I sat down for a long and enjoyable chat with our

0:11.4

friend Rob Sheffield who in addition to all the other stuff he does is the

0:15.0

author of Dreaming the Beatles the love story of one band in the whole world and we

0:19.1

talked about the Beatles revolver track by track the album just came out in a great remixed edition with a lot of unheard outtakes and thought it would be a fun Thanksgiving topic.

0:31.0

Thanksgiving is Beatles time last year it was the Get Back documentary. Thanksgiving So Rob the last track by track we did was

0:47.0

Midnights by Tewer Swift with Brittany and now we're doing another track by

0:51.6

track another brand new album that the world can't stop talking about.

0:55.7

1:21.5

because Abbey Road has their own demixing technology, but this apparently is better.

1:26.0

They were able to break down the tracks using artificial intelligence to their component parts

1:31.9

and essentially make it a much more than four track recording and

1:35.6

mix it in detailed ways that were not possible when the original album came out.

1:41.8

And the other reason why this is a particularly significant one is

1:45.6

the revolver stereo mix that was out there in the world before was pretty weird

1:51.1

was notably weird it was almost unbearable to listen to in

1:54.4

headphones. You had the classic things of almost everything in the right

1:58.8

channel or whatever and the or the vocals all by themselves like it was an unusual headachey headphones experience.
