He was founder of Ligonier Ministries, first minister of preaching and teaching at Saint Andrew's Chapel, first president of Reformation Bible College, and executive editor of Tabletalk magazine.

Now has anybody ever slandered you for the sake of Jesus?

Has anyone ever falsely accused you for the sake of Jesus?

If you have experienced that, you know how painful that can be.

And so how in any way can that be an occasion for blessedness?

Notice what Jesus says that when that happens, you're supposed to rejoice and be exceedingly glad. The Apostle Paul tells us that all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus

will suffer persecution, but we have this great consolation in the promise that

Jesus gave us that blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake

and blessed are you when they revile and persecute you.

So whether slander, imprisonment, or laying down your life, these are promises that we can
