And I'm Joe McCormick, and we're back with part two of our series on animals,

cooking, non-human animals, and cooking in the sense of doing things to food

before they eat it other than applying heat. Because in the last episode,

we talked about how humans are the only animals that regularly apply heat to their food on purpose

to cook it, but animals do all kinds of other interesting things to their food before eating it.

For example, we talked about birds that sort of butcher and smash up and process their

animal parts before they consume them in various ways, like the strike making

shish kabobs out of crickets and other critters. And was it the lamer-geyer that would smash the
