Hey, today is Memorial Day. And every Memorial Day we pause to think of people who have risked their life for this country, who have been killed in the name of this country.

Often you think of men and women killed in foreign wars, but the vast

vast majority of service members are stationed here at home. In fact, so far this year alone,

three American troops have been killed in hostile action overseas, we average

hundreds of accidental deaths per year, training deaths, and it raises the question,

what does this country owe the men and women serving on US military bases and what does it owe the communities that support them?

an alarming number of these communities

worry that the local military base is posing dangers of its own,

to neighbors, perhaps even to men and women serving.
